We tried McDonald’s Chicken McCrispy and it’s so good we’re going to buy a bucket for dinner at home, Lifestyle News

When we first heard that Chicken McCrispy was again available at McDonald’s in Singapore, we had more than a couple of people raving in the office – that is, those of us who can still remember eating it growing up.

And when we talk about McCrispy, we have to mention the pets, which were aptly named for the process in which McDonald’s says its chicken is cooked: Flash Fry and Steam Marinate.

This is also what made McCrispy unique. The AsiaOne team members remember the steam that emanated from the chicken when you pulled it apart, although the skin remained perfectly crisp.

For those who haven’t tried it or can’t remember what it tastes like, the general consensus is that none of the chicken tenders McDonald’s has on its current menu – whether it’s McWings, McSpicy, or McChicken – can measure up.

So how does the 2020 version of McCrispy fare?

For one thing, the packaging is less flashy and more generic, in line with the overall brand McDonald’s has embraced in recent years.

For $ 6 a la carte, you get two pieces of chicken (ours was a drumstick and drumstick). And no, no steam came out when we bit into our chicken, although this could be because we opted to go take out.

For those who have tried the OG version, this was not up to scratch, although it has been a while since any of us had the original. That said, it’s still a pretty good chicken as the meat is nice and juicy. For optimal flavor, make sure each bite has crisp skin and juicy meat.

As for our colleagues who had never tried McCrispy before, they all agreed that it tasted great, and one couple immediately asked where they could buy it. “Better than McWings,” joked a young colleague.

When asked by AsiaOne about the reasons behind Chicken McCrispy’s reappearance on the McDonald’s Singapore menu, a McDonald’s spokesperson said, “We are always exploring new and delicious ways to excite our customers, and this is one of those long-time stores. limited tests that allow us to collect valuable customer feedback. “

If you are one of those who have been waiting for this McCrispy comeback to become permanent, let McDonald’s know as they will “consider bringing this back and possibly across the island based on customer feedback.”

For now, our colleague has decided to attack while the griddle is hot and the chicken is still around; will buy a bucket of six ($ 16.90) for dinner.
