In one of the rare bright moments that make 2020 that little bit brighter, McDonald’s Singapore has brought back an item that was missing but not forgotten on the menu: the one and only Chicken McCrispy.

He was also cunning. With no fanfare or a huge marketing campaign worthy of a ’90s cult favorite, the Chicken McCrispy quietly rolled out at 11 McDonald’s outlets across the country this week.

Only customers who physically passed through the points of sale had a glimpse of the item being offered before news of its existence spread online.

The Singapore Atrium Sale Facebook page and The Halal Food Blog amplified the news of McCrispy’s return. According to the photos taken, the minimalist packaging made a big difference to the design and bold colors of how it was before. The superhero pets also disappeared: Flash Fry and Steam Marinade.

Meanwhile, Singapore Atrium Sale published a review of the fried chicken, which consists of drumsticks and drumsticks, just as we remember it. According to the post, the revamped Chicken McCrispy tastes similar to the Crispy Chicken Cutlet in terms of breading and spices. To be fair, it might be hard to compete with a taste for nostalgia.

AsiaOne has reached out to McDonald’s Singapore for feedback. Meanwhile, the fast food chain has clarified on Facebook that Chicken McCrispy is being tested in select stores and will only be available for a limited time. It costs $ 6 for a box a la carte.
