SINGAPORE – Demand has been overwhelming for behind-the-scenes tours of the Singapore Airlines Training Center (SIA) after reservations opened on Sunday morning (November 1), the national airline said.

More than 6,800 bookings were received, and registrations closed after nine hours due to “overwhelming demand,” the SIA said Sunday night.

Reservations open at 10 a.m. M. On Sundays and they close at 7 pm. M. Up to five people can be registered in a reservation.

Those who have secured a slot for Inside Singapore Airlines tours will be able to tour the training facility at Upper Changi on one of four days during the last two weekends in November. There is a maximum capacity of 500 clients per day.

Announced on September 29, the tours are part of a trio of initiatives launched by SIA to engage its customers, even as Covid-19 has dramatically reduced the number of flights the national airline can operate.

The other two initiatives involve letting customers dine on an SIA A380 aircraft at Changi Airport and delivering first or business class meals to customers’ homes.

The SIA said Sunday that Inside Singapore Airlines’ companion experiences also received an overwhelming response and were in excess.

They include a flight simulator experience with very limited spaces for each day, tasting sessions for the SIA wine selection, preparation workshops on how to get the Singapore Girl look and experiences for children to learn what it is like to be a pilot or an A380 Business.
