SINGAPORE: The 12 new Singapore COVID-19 cases reported on Saturday (October 31) were all imported cases.
Two of them are Singaporean: a 56-year-old man who returned from Indonesia and a 71-year-old woman who traveled from the United States.
A permanent resident of Singapore returned from Indonesia, while a dependent’s pass holder traveled from Greece.
The remaining eight cases are work permit holders who came from Indonesia and the Philippines.
All the cases were sent home or isolated upon arrival in Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) said.
There were no new locally transmitted infections.
Singapore’s COVID-19 case count is 58,015.

Four more cases have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities, bringing the number of recoveries to 57,913, the Health Ministry said.
There are 42 cases that are still in the hospital. Most are stable or improving and no one is in the intensive care unit.
A total of 32 cases are being isolated and treated in community facilities.
QUICKLY BUILT BEDROOMS READY TO ACCOMMODATE MIGRANT WORKERS
A total of 8,000 migrant workers will be housed in seven new quick build dormitories (QBD) that have improved living conditions, with eight more dormitories to be built by the second half of next year.

These dormitories are part of the government’s efforts to improve the standard of living in migrant worker housing. The newly constructed dormitories will test some new standards to make dormitory life more resilient to public health hazards like COVID-19.
The latest facilities, which are located in Kranji, Admiralty and Choa Chu Kang, began operating about a month ago.
Eight more QBDs will be ready by the second half of next year, bringing total capacity to 25,000, according to the National Development Ministry.
