SINGAPORE – Singapore will lift border restrictions for foreign travelers from mainland China and the Australian state of Victoria from November 6.

The move means that these visitors will undergo a COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test upon arrival and, if the result is negative, they can continue their activities in Singapore without being quarantined or receiving a stay-at-home notice.

This also applies to Singaporeans, permanent residents, and long-term pass holders returning from these two areas.

In a press release on Thursday (Oct 29), the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) said that both mainland China and Australia’s state of Victoria have comprehensive public health surveillance systems and demonstrated successful monitoring. about the spread of COVID-19.

As of noon Thursday, CAAS approved 1,375 applications to enter Singapore from these locations and received 602 visitors. None of the visitors tested positive for COVID-19 upon arrival.

Travelers from Victoria and mainland China can apply for an Air Travel Pass starting Friday (October 30) to enter Singapore starting November 6. They must have been in China or Australia for the last 14 consecutive days before entering Singapore.

Before departing for Singapore, visitors must download and register for the TraceTogether app on their mobile devices. They must keep it activated during their stay in Singapore, and not delete it for 14 consecutive days after leaving.

Visitors are also responsible for their COVID-19 related medical bills while in Singapore.

CAAS will also update the travel advisory to allow travel to mainland China and all of Australia. Travelers are advised to check the entry requirements imposed by these countries and take the necessary precautionary measures.
