SINGAPORE – TraceTogether token distribution, which has been ongoing at 38 Community Centers (CCs) for the past six weeks, has been temporarily suspended so that the tokens can be distributed in one district at a time.
This is to prevent long lines from forming at certain CCs, which happened last weekend after the announcement that the TraceTogether app or token will be required for SafeEntry registrations in a variety of popular locations by the end of December.
The Office of Smart Nation and Digital Government on Tuesday (Oct 27) said that the new mode of distribution will begin on Thursday, starting with Marsiling CC.
CCs in other districts will progressively open for token collection between October and December.
“By the second half of December, all CCs will be open for collection, including the initial 38 CCs. Residents of the 38 CCs who have not collected their tokens during the first collection wave will be able to do so at that time,” SNDGO said .
SNDGO also said Monday that people should collect their TraceTogether tokens only from CCs in their own districts.
The bureau said that all districts will be served in due time and urged members of the public to wait for the collection exercise to begin in their districts.
Registration with the TraceTogether app or token, called SafeEntry by TraceTogether only, will apply only after everyone who needs a token has had a chance to collect one, SNDGO said.
The office added that people can use the SafeEntry registration token or app only from TraceTogether, as they serve the same function of recording close contact details.
“You do not need to collect the token if you are already using the TraceTogether app or can download it,” SNDGO said.
Members of the public can refer to the TokenGoWhere website to find the designated collection location and the full collection schedule.
