Singapore reports 7 new COVID-19 cases, including 6 imported infections

SINGAPORE: Singapore reported seven new COVID-19 infections as of noon on Tuesday (October 27), including six imported cases.

One case was reported in the community and none in the dormitories of foreign workers, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) said in a preliminary daily update.

The 6 imported cases were placed on a stay-at-home notice upon arrival in Singapore, the ministry said.

The new infections bring Singapore’s COVID-19 count to 57,980.

Details of the new cases will be announced Tuesday night, the Health Ministry said.

TRACETOGETHER TOKEN COLLECTION IN COMMUNITY CENTERS

Starting Tuesday, those who collect their TraceTogether tokens will be able to do so only at community centers in their constituency, the Office of Digital Government and Smart Nation (SNDGO) said.

Previously, residents had been able to collect their tokens at community centers outside their own districts.

The TraceTogether program, comprising both the app and the token, aims to enhance Singapore’s contract tracking efforts.

Exclusive to TraceTogether, SafeEntry will roll out at the end of the year in popular locations, including workplaces, schools, shopping centers, food and beverage outlets, and hotels.
