Being a celebrity has its advantages, but it doesn’t make you immune from the wrath of an irate neighbor.

Local actress Kimberly Chia was recently criticized on social media for clogging the common area of the garbage chute near the elevator landing with garbage bags and piles of furniture.

Kimberly, 25, and her family were cleaning their home for the upcoming renovation.

On Monday (October 19), Kimberly’s neighbor, identified as Stephanie Faith Lim on Instagram, shared photos of the trash, furniture, and a work station that were placed in the landfill area and called the young actress.

She wrote: “Dear @kimberlychia, I know that you and your loving family are busy packing for your next renovation. But please be more considerate of your neighbors and the cleaner.”

He also tagged Kimberly’s talent management company Noontalk Media and some local media outlets in his post.

Another Kimberly neighbor, calling himself @daphneelim, also said that he couldn’t use the garbage chute due to the clogging.

The next day, Lim shared an update that the garbage had been cleaned up.

Kimberly also responded to her neighbor’s Instagram stories and apologized for the inconvenience. She explained: “We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience caused to all of our neighbors by moving in during this challenging period. We have planned to clean everything (and we have done it) and we need some time.

“Our city council is aware of and has arranged to remove large items that we cannot do on our own. We have also notified city staff that we will clean things up in the garbage area (below). Kindly understanding and sorry for any inconvenience. .

He also told 8 Days that his family of six has lived in the apartment for more than 20 years and that the packing for the renovation has been a “nightmare.” He added that the city council advised them to leave the larger pieces of furniture next to the elevator landing first and that they had been cleaning up other unwanted items by taking them to the garbage area.

Kimberly shared: “We didn’t have time to clean it up yet because we’ve been going back and forth to the storage unit to put our things, so we left it near the common garbage chute that was next to the elevator.

“But as soon as we put things in there, without even getting close to us, our neighbor took photos and posted them. I understand that it is [an inconvenience to our neighbours]but if they weren’t happy they could have talked to us first instead of posting it on Instagram. “

However, he admitted that he could have handled the situation better and seeks the understanding of his neighbors, as it is the first time that they have done major renovations in the apartment that will last three months.
