SINGAPORE: Changi Airport Group (CAG) is looking for “additional ways” such as laying nets to “further minimize the risk of lost golf balls” entering the Changi Jurassic Mile, it said on Friday (October 23).
The Changi Jurassic Mile is a permanent outdoor display of dinosaur models along the recently opened Changi Airport Connector, which links the airport to the East Coast Park.
CAG’s comments, in response to CNA inquiries, came after a Facebook post from a man who said his maid had been hit Thursday by a golf ball from nearby Tanah Merah Country Club while walking through the path.
“Changi Airport Group (CAG) regrets this unfortunate incident, which has never occurred on the Jurassic Mile before. Immediate assistance was provided to the visitor last night, and CAG is in contact with the family to verify their status,” CAG said.
“CAG is looking for additional ways to further minimize the risk of lost golf balls heading toward the Jurassic Mile, such as placing nets in that area.”
In response to inquiries from the CNA, Tanah Merah Country Club said it was “working closely” with CAG as it sought to “improve the safety features of the track.”
“One possibility that is being explored is to place nets in that area to avoid more accidents,” said the country club.

The Changi Jurassic Mile is located between the pit stop of Terminal 4 of the Changi Airport Connector and the entrance to the East Coast Park.
The bike and pedestrian path, which begins at Terminal 2, opened earlier this month. It operates in parallel with the offices that provide ground handling services, Terminal 4 and Tanah Merah Country Club.
