Resident again seen burning offerings on the stair landing, this time in Ang Mo Kio

A resident was seen burning offerings on a stair landing in Block 332 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 on Sunday morning (October 18).

Stomper Sheron, who resides in that block, became concerned when he saw this happen at 8am and shared photos with Stomp.

“Is it allowed? Because it doesn’t seem right,” Sheron said.

“The llama was pretty from time to time.

“Burner containers are already available around our blocks, so why do this?

“Also, if a curious child touches the burner bowl while it’s hot, it could be painful.”

In response to a query from Stomp, a spokesperson for the Ang Mo Kio City Council said: “The city council advises residents on responsible burning of incense and incense papers through their educational posters that are displayed on notice boards as well as in social media posts on Facebook and Instagram. “

The city council added that containers with incense burners have been placed in each block for residents to use.

“We encourage residents to be considerate when burning incense and incense papers to keep our environment safe and clean,” the spokesperson said.

In another case, the Holland-Bukit Panjang City Council also advised a family not to burn offerings on the stair landing after they were seen doing so on October 16.
