Mesut Ozil says he is “deeply disappointed” that Arsenal failed to “reciprocate” his love and hard work for the club by offering him a place on their Premier League side.

Ozil’s future has been the subject of intense debate in recent seasons amid his lack of playing time.

The 32 year old He fought for minutes with previous boss Unai Emery, but the situation has worsened with Mikel Arteta.

In fact, after failing to earn a place in Arsenal’s last Europa League team, Arteta made the decision to cut him off his Premier League ranks.

Leading to Twitter, Ozil issued a long and damning statement about the deterioration of his relationship with his club.

“I am very disappointed that I am not registered for the Premier League season at the moment,” the midfielder wrote.

“By signing my new contract in 2018, I pledged my loyalty and loyalty to the club that I love, Arsenal, and I am saddened that this was not reciprocated.

“I’ve always tried to stay positive from week to week that maybe there is a chance to be part of the team again soon. That is why I was silent until now. “

Ozil seemed to have regained his place on the team upon the arrival of Arteta. After taking office in December, the Spanish manager played it in his first 10 Premier League games in charge.

However, the German has not played since March when the coronavirus pandemic stopped football.

‘I was no longer allowed to play’

Ozil seemed to lose his words in his statement, where he explained his perspective on his disappearance from Arsenal.

“Before the breakdown of the coronavirus I was very happy with my development with our new coach Mikel Arteta – We have been on a positive path and I would say that my performances were at a really good level, ”added Ozil.

“But then things changed, again, and I was no longer allowed to play football at Arsenal.

“What else can I say? London still feels like home, I still have a lot of good friends on this team and I still feel a strong connection to the fans of this club.

“Whatever happens, I will keep fighting for my chance and I won’t let my eighth season at Arsenal end like this.

“I can promise you that this difficult decision will not change anything in my way of thinking; I will continue to train to the best of my ability and whenever possible I will use my voice against inhumanity and for justice.”

The snub means that Ozil can only play U23 soccer until the end of the season, when his contract expires.
