Mandatory TraceTogether Registrations from End of December: 6 Things to Know About App or Token Usage, Singapore News and News

[ad_1]

SINGAPORE – By the end of December, registering with the TraceTogether app or token will be mandatory in all public places in Singapore, including restaurants, workplaces, schools and shopping malls.

This was announced by the multi-ministerial task force addressing Covid-19 on Tuesday (October 20), and SafeEntry, exclusive to TraceTogether, will be phased in starting this month.

Here’s what you need to know about the new requirement:

1. What is SafeEntry unique to TraceTogether?

SafeEntry, from TraceTogether only, is the only way members of the public can register in a public place using the app or token.

Currently, there are other options for registering with SafeEntry, such as scanning the SafeEntry QR code with your phone camera or the SingPass mobile app, or the barcodes on your NRIC.

You will no longer be able to do any of this once TraceTogether-only SafeEntry is implemented.

2. How does TraceTogether exclusive SafeEntry work?

The TraceTogether app includes a feature for users to scan SafeEntry QR codes displayed at locations.

The token comes with a QR code that can be scanned for entry. Businesses will need to download a separate SafeEntry (Business) scanning app on any smartphone that will allow them to scan the QR codes on the tokens.

3. Where will TraceTogether exclusive SafeEntry be implemented?

It will be implemented in all public places where you currently need to register with SafeEntry.

These include workplaces, schools, places of worship, shopping malls, restaurants, hotels, and healthcare facilities, among others.

4. When will TraceTogether exclusive SafeEntry be implemented?

The mandatory TraceTogether registrations will be introduced first from now until mid-November at locations where activities involving large groups of people are taking place. Theaters will be the first, starting next Monday (October 26).

Other venues include those where live performances and business events are held, as well as places of worship that perform services with more than 100 people.

The rest of the places across the country will follow suit in late December, when the distribution of TraceTogether tokens has been further expanded and everyone has access to the app or token, said the task force co-chair and minister of Education , Lawrence Wong.

5. Where can I collect the TraceTogether token?

Currently, you can collect the token in 38 community centers (CC) or in 13 mobile booths deployed in various shopping centers. You can go to any of these collection points regardless of where you are staying.

The full list of locations can be found on the Token Go Where website. At the end of November, the tokens will be available in the 108 CCs.

6. Will TraceTogether exclusive SafeEntry apply to infants or toddlers?

All Singapore residents aged seven and over will need to use the token or app to sign up for SafeEntry from TraceTogether only.
