The multi-ministries working group addressing Covid-19 announced on Tuesday (October 20) that by the end of December, registration with the TraceTogether app or the token will be mandatory in all public places.
At a virtual press conference, the task force announced that members of the public will no longer be able to enter these venues by scanning the SafeEntry QR codes with their phone cameras, or via the SingPass mobile app or barcodes at your NRIC.
He added that mandatory use of TraceTogether will begin in theaters.

Making the use of TraceTogether mandatory would be a step towards Singapore’s entry into phase three.
Mr. Wong said that currently only about 2.5 million people, or 45 percent of the population, are using the TraceTogether app or the token.
“We would like it to be higher, so that TraceTogether is effective,” he said, according to a Straits Times report.
“When we have a higher acceptance rate of TT (TraceTogether) and a broader implementation of SafeEntry only of TT … and community transmission during this period is still low, then there is a good chance that we will enter phase three … at the end of the year, ”he said, according to the Straits Times report. / ITGS
