A man was caught on video repeatedly hitting the hood of a Grab deliveryman along Tampines North Drive 1 on August 11 at 5.05pm.
Stomper Anonymous, who was the man who hit the car, shared the incident with Stomp and sent a video of what happened.
The video was also posted on SG Road Vigilante’s YouTube page on Saturday (October 17).
In the video, a man can be seen hitting the hood of the car as the car crawls forward.
Photos from a police report made by Grab’s delivery man can also be seen attached to the end of the video.
The YouTube video was also posted on SG Road Vigilante’s Facebook page, along with the caption: “Grab’s driver was confronted by employees of a courier company after deciding to cancel Grab’s delivery job.”
In the comments, netizens were quick to say that it was impulsive and dangerous for the man to hit the hood of the car.
Other netizens speculated that there must be two sides to the story, which is what prompted Stomper to come forward to share his side of the story.
The Stomper shared that he worked for the courier company and the Grab deliveryman wanted to pick up a package from the courier company on behalf of a customer.
However, Stomper said that his courier company needed to locate the package and required a self-collection code, which the Grab delivery man could not provide.
“After the Grab delivery man waited about 15 minutes, he started to get mad,” Stomper said.
“When my boss asked him what the problem was, the delivery man started yelling vulgarities at him.
“I was not in the office at the time, so my boss called me and asked me to come back to the office.
“My boss had also called the police by then.
“When I was in my truck and about to go into the office, I noticed that Grab’s delivery man was in his car and about to leave.
“So I drove in front of his car to try to stop him from leaving. But that didn’t work because he just changed lanes.
“So I got out of my truck and started hitting the hood of his car, so stop him from leaving.”
In response to an inquiry from Stomp, police confirmed that a report was filed.
Police investigations are ongoing.
