Police are investigating an incident in which a GrabFood deliveryman was caught on video yelling vulgarities and throwing a phone out of the hand of a man at AMK Hub.

Several Stompers alerted Stomp to a video of the dispute that was posted on Facebook on Sunday (October 18).

In the video, a man in a red shirt can be heard saying to a GrabFood delivery man, “No need to point the finger, okay? I’m just asking you to relax.”

The GrabFood delivery man then tosses the man’s phone out of his hands. He is then seen entering an elevator while shouting a few words in dialect.

According to the Chinese-language newspaper Lianhe Zaobao, the GrabFood delivery man is believed to have got into the man’s queue to enter the Ang Mo Kio shopping center, sparking the altercation.

Lianhe Zaobao reported that when the man told the delivery man to queue, the latter became angry and threw the man’s phone.

The video was originally posted on a Facebook group by Moon Nguyen, who wrote about her husband’s encounter with the GrabFood delivery man.

However, the post has since been removed.

In response to a query from Stomp, a Grab spokesperson said: “Grab is aware of this incident and is investigating it.”

Police also confirmed that a report was filed and that investigations are ongoing.
