Liverpool player ranking as Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson shine against Everton

[ad_1]

Adrian 6

Decent save near the Calvert-Lewin post, but needed stronger hands for the tie. Rodriguez saved the second half and no chance with the second.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 6

He saw a good free kick saved but defensively a little weak at times. Later in the distribution, but the leveler came from his wing.

Joel Matip 7

No signs of rust given its surprise start, and strong in the air when needed. Denied a goal for a marvelous save from Pickford.

Virgil van Dijk

A couple of strong tackles before getting caught by a terrible challenge from Pickford and having to limp.

Andy Robertson 7

He created Mane’s starter and almost set up a second with another good run. Such a threat down the left and continued to advance in the second half, but was exposed for Everton’s second draw.

Fabinho 7

He helped close out Everton’s midfield in the early stages and put his foot in when necessary. A little more difficult for him after the break. Reserved and subsequently replaced.

Thiago Alcantara 8

He used the ball well and effortlessly entered midfield in his first start at Liverpool. The influence grew late and survived Richarlison cutting it in half.

Jordan Henderson 8

He brought energy and drive during the first half that allowed Liverpool to dominate. He closed with an effort in the second half and denied what should have been a spectacular late winner.

Mohamed Salah 7

A couple of weak finishes in the first half after working in good positions, as the threat did not match the final product. Similar frustration after the break to a withering end for Liverpool’s second.

Roberto Firmino 6

More alive than in recent times and found that the space fell deep, but there was not enough incision in the first half. The same story after the break, despite a lot of effort. Subtitled.

Sadio mane 8

Tormented the right side of Everton’s defense with his straight run, he scored once and should have had another. Reserved.

Joe Gomez (by Van Dijk 11) 7

He didn’t have it all his way against Calvert-Lewin in the first half, but he grew in confidence. Much more solid after the break.

Diogo Jota (for Firmino 78)

The biggest contribution was accidentally cutting Mane in the Everton area.

Gini Wijnaldum (for Fabinho 90 + 1)

Minutes.
