LISBON (Reuters) – Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo tested positive for COVID-19, the Portuguese Football Federation said in a statement on its website on Tuesday.

The 35-year-old Juventus forward will miss Wednesday’s UEFA Nations League game against Sweden, but he is “fine, has no symptoms and is isolated,” the association said.

The federation added that the rest of Portugal’s squad had been tested as a result of Ronaldo’s positive, but that all had tested negative and would be available for the Sweden match.

Five-time world player of the year, Ronaldo, appeared in his team’s 0-0 draw against France in the Nations League on Sunday and in Wednesday’s 0-0 draw in a home friendly against Spain.

Now you will have doubts about Juve’s trip to Serie A to Crotone on Saturday and the opening match of the Champions League group stage at Dynamo Kiev next Tuesday.
