SINGAPORE: TraceTogether roaming mobile booths will be deployed in about 100 locations, including shopping malls, for residents to collect their tokens or learn how to download and use the contact tracing app.

The nationwide distribution of TraceTogether tokens in community centers has also expanded to more areas, following the Sept. 14 launch in the Jalan Besar and Tanjong Pagar regions, Smart Nation and Digital Government Group (SNDGG) said in a press release. on Sunday (October 4).

The measures come as authorities aim to upgrade the existing contact tracing regime with a community-driven system.

The TraceTogether program, which comprises both the app and the token, relies on proximity data to provide an initial list of close contacts for positive COVID-19 cases.

Together with SafeEntry and associated digital systems, the program enables contact tracing teams to reduce the time required to identify and quarantine a close contact from four days to less than two days on average, SNDGG said.

MOBILE STANDS IN 100 LOCATIONS

Launched on Friday, the mobile mobile cabins were deployed to Chinatown Point on the first day, followed by Causeway Point, Paragon, City Square Mall and Great World City on Saturday.

In total, approximately 100 locations will be deployed for residents to collect their TraceTogether tokens or learn how to download and use the app.

“The booths will be installed in areas with a high influx of people, such as shopping malls,” SNDGG said, adding that they are an additional way for the public to collect tokens for themselves and their families.

The full deployment schedule for the mobile cabs can be found on the TokenGoWhere website.

MORE PICK-UP POINTS IN COMMUNITY CENTERS

National token distribution began on September 14 at Community Centers and Clubs (CCs) in the Jalan Besar and Tanjong Pagar areas.

To date, more than 100,000 tokens have been delivered, the SNDGG said.
