In a statement, the Singapore Meteorological Service (MSS) said more torrential rains are expected in the next two weeks and that the daily temperature is forecast to range between 24 degrees C and 33 degrees C.

The MSS said more rains are expected over Singapore because the monsoon rain band is forecast to be closer to the Southeast Asian region.

“(In the first week of October), moderate to heavy short duration stormy rains are expected between morning and afternoon on some days due to strong solar warming of land areas,” said MSS. “The rains could continue into the night in some parts of the island for a few days.”

In the second week of October, widespread moderate to heavy torrential rains are expected with occasional gusts of wind between the hours before sunrise and the morning. Torrential rains can also be expected on some nights.

Overall, rainfall for the first two weeks is forecast to be above average for most of the island.

The MSS said that last month was the coldest September in the last decade, with a monthly average temperature of 27.5 degrees Celsius.

It was also the second wettest September in the last 10 years, after 2013. Almost all parts of the island had received well above normal rainfall, with Jurong West topping the list with 121% above average rainfall. registered.
