Two separate incidents, involving a woman who had threatened to jump off a block and a man who was found dead at the foot of another block, occurred in Toa Payoh early Thursday morning (September 30).
They were reported only four minutes apart.
Stomper Aloysius He was walking through Lorong 1 Toa Payoh when he noticed a police car, a police tent, and some police officers in Block 100.
He featured a photo of the scene that he took around 11:40 a.m.
In response to an inquiry from Stomp, police said they were alerted to a case of unnatural death in Block 100 Lorong 1 Toa Payoh at 6.47am.
A 58-year-old man was found immobile at the foot of the block and was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic.
Police investigations are ongoing.
Police had also received a call for assistance at 6.43 a.m. after a woman was seen on the ledge outside the common corridor in Block 81A Toa Payoh Lorong 4.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, he threatened to jump from the sixth floor.
The 24-year-old woman was detained under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act and subsequently transferred to the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
