‘I’m The Bitch You Know’: Xiaxue Addresses The Mistake Of Making A Tweet That Got Police Reports, Digital News

It has been weeks since Wendy Cheng, popularly known by her nickname Xiaxue, was acquitted by the police for some controversial tweets she made years ago.

However, the veteran social media influencer is still dealing with the aftermath of being reported to authorities for racially offensive tweets that appear to have been directed at foreign workers in Singapore.

Xiaxue broached the issue once again in an Instagram story shared on Sunday (September 27), when she recalled an interview earlier this year with local television host Quan Yi Fong.

In it, he reaffirmed his limitless frankness, stating how his entire career had been summed up in one Mandarin expression: “Baochi chuxin”, which roughly means staying true to yourself from the beginning.

“You may know me as a bitch. But I’m the bitch you know, ”Xiaxue wrote. “Think of all the other bitches who pretend to be good people when they are not.”

He also admitted that the tweet he made in 2010 had been a “mistake.” The tweet, which has since been deleted, read: “Because they abuse people and fuck our maids and look down on girls and flood Little India !! Yes, I’m stereotyping, but fuck it if you say it’s not true. ”

On July 6 of this year, a police report was filed against Xiaxue. “I feel threatened by her because she is trying to arouse anti-Indian sentiments,” the police report said. “This is a clear falsehood and he is clearly trying to say that construction workers are natural criminals.”

In response to the police report, the blogger had clarified that she made the tweet because she had been repeatedly sexually assaulted by “members of this group”. Police stated on September 17 that no further action would be taken against Xiaxue after the Attorney General’s Office reported that “the elements of a crime have not been established beyond a reasonable doubt.”

The police report was made as part of a boycott campaign against Xiaxue, who sparked anger after her criticism of Workers’ Party deputy Raeesah Khan during the general election.

“People tried so hard to dig up shit about me … but all they managed to find is a tweet from a decade ago where I made a mistake and let my emotions get the better of me,” he wrote on Instagram.

“A mistake in 17 years of writing. Who has not said anything bad in 17 years of his life? “

As Coconuts Singapore discovered, Xiaxue remains locked in a legal battle against an individual known as Elouise, who is believed to have promoted the boycott campaign against the blogger. The hashtag #PunishXiaxue briefly reached the top trending spot on Twitter in Singapore and resulted in the loss of its brand endorsements.
