SINGAPORE: The RedDoorz hotel reservation and management platform has been affected by a breach of one of its IT databases containing personal customer data.
“We have reason to believe that data has been compromised,” RedDoorz said in an email sent to customers on Saturday (September 26).
The data can include names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, and reservation details.
“However, it appears that financial information, such as masked credit card information or passwords, remains secure to the best of our knowledge,” he said in the email seen by CNA.
In a press release, a RedDoorz spokesperson said it learned of the breach earlier this week and is taking “all necessary steps” to investigate further.
“At the same time, we are conducting a comprehensive review of all our IT and protection systems,” he added.
RedDoorz advised its customers to change their passwords as an additional precaution and not to use the same password on other digital platforms.
“Until now, we have changed all system access keys and access credentials, and enabled multi-layer authentication whenever possible,” RedDoorz said in its notice to customers.
“Data privacy is something we take very seriously at RedDoorz and we have implemented the necessary security measures to ensure that all of our customers’ personal data remains secure.”
