SINGAPORE – On Friday (September 25) the Ministry of Health (MINSA) added three popular shopping centers, including one that was visited three times, to a list of public places visited by community cases while they were infectious.
Ion Orchard was visited on September 18 from 1.55 pm to 4.05 pm, while Paragon’s Muji establishment was visited on September 19 from 6 pm to 6.35 pm
Lucky Plaza was visited three times: from 4:05 p.m. to 4:55 p.m. on September 18, from 6:25 p.m. to 7:20 p.m. on September 19, and from 10:00 a.m. to 5:55 p.m. on September 21.
Those who had been identified as close contacts of confirmed cases have already been notified, the Health Ministry said.
As a precautionary measure, visitors who have been to these locations during specified times should monitor their health closely for 14 days from the date of their visit, he added.
They should see a doctor if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection, such as cough, sore throat, and runny nose, as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history.
“It is not necessary to avoid places where confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been recorded. The National Environmental Agency will involve the administration of the affected facilities to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection, ”the ministry added.
The list of public places visited excludes residence, workplaces, sanitary facilities and public transport, and will be updated every 14 days or an incubation period, and as epidemiological investigations progress.
On the same day, the Ministry of Health confirmed 11 new cases of COVID-19 in Singapore, bringing the country’s total to 57,665.
