President Trump refused to commit on Wednesday to a peaceful transfer of power should he lose the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden.

At a press conference held in the White House press conference room, Trump was asked directly about the transfer of power.

“Mr. President, very quickly, win, lose or draw in this election, will you commit here today to a peaceful transfer of power after the election? Asked reporter Brian Karem.” And there have been riots in Louisville, there have been riots in many cities in this country, red and … your so-called red and blue states – will you commit to ensuring there is a peaceful transfer of power after the election?

“Well, we’re going to have to see what happens, you know. I have complained a lot about the ballots and the ballots are a disaster, “Trump responded.

“I understand that, but people are getting rowdy,” Karem continued. “Do you promise to make a peaceful transfer of power …”

“Ditch the ballots and you will have a very quiet one – there will be no transfer, frankly, there will be continuation. The ballots are out of control. Do you know it and do you know who knows it better than anyone? The Democrats know that better than anyone. “

Trump’s comments prompted a quick rebuke from Utah Republican Sen. Mitt Romney, the only Republican in the Senate who voted to impeach Trump during impeachment earlier this year.

Earlier in the day, Trump said the Senate should confirm its next Supreme Court nominee because it believed the election results would be decided by the court.

“I think this will end up in the Supreme Court,” Trump said. “And I think it’s very important that we have nine judges.”

Trump, who has spent weeks criticizing the vote-by-mail, said the court would need to rule on the validity of the election.

“But I think it’s better if you go before the elections because I think this, this scam that the Democrats are doing, is a scam, the scam will be before the United States Supreme Court,” Trump said.
