SINGAPORE: Singapore reported 11 new COVID-19 cases as of noon on Friday (September 25), with two imported infections and none in the community.
It is the fourth day this week that no new community cases have been reported.
Among the imported cases, one of them, a 30-year-old work pass holder, had returned from India. His infection was detected by a serological test.
Travelers from India are required to take a serological test beginning Wednesday during the 14-day stay-at-home notification period.
The other imported case involved a 32-year-old woman with a work permit who traveled from the Philippines. Both cases were placed on stay-at-home notice upon arrival in Singapore, she said. the Ministry of Health (MINSA).

The remaining cases involve foreign workers living in dormitories. Seven of them had already been in quarantine as they were identified as contacts from previous cases.
The other two cases were detected by surveillance tests.

Singapore’s case count is 57,665.
Eight more cases were discharged from hospitals or community care facilities, bringing the total recoveries in Singapore to 57,341.
There are 29 cases in the hospital, most of them stable or improving.
Another 268 cases that have mild symptoms or are clinically well, but still test positive for the virus, are being isolated and cared for in community facilities.
Three shopping malls along Orchard Road, ION Orchard, Lucky Plaza and Paragon, were added to the MOH’s list of public places visited by community cases of COVID-19 during their infectious period.

Starting October 1, COVID-19 restrictions in cinemas will be eased, allowing large movie theaters with more than 300 seats to have up to three zones with a maximum of 50 customers each, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
Other movie theaters will be allowed to increase to 50 percent of their original operating capacity, or maintain the current limit of up to 50 customers per theater, subject to COVID-19 safe management measures.
Restrictions on worship services and wedding receptions will also be eased starting October 3. Up to 100 attendees will be allowed in worship and wedding services, up from the current limit of 50.
Authorities are also considering a trial to increase attendance limits for congregational services to 250 people, with five zones of 50 people each.
