Liverpool staged a tasty Carabao Cup fourth round clash with Arsenal after destroying Lincoln 7-2 at Sincil Bank on Thursday night.
The Reds were quick to open their account, with Xherdan Shaqiri serving a timely reminder of his abilities. The Swiss star launched an unstoppable free-kick from 25 meters after just nine minutes.
Shaqiri has dropped the thought of Jurgen Klopp, and he will hope that the goal will serve as a reminder of his talents.
However, two other men vying for similar roles on the team also underscored their credentials as the Reds went wild for the goal.
The second goal came in the 18th minute, Takumi Minamino finished off with a great shot from outside the area.

Jones then jumped into action to make it 3-0 at 32.
The academy star, considered by many to be the main beneficiary of Adam Lallana’s departure, made a beautiful effort after the fall of Divock Origi.

Four minutes later, Jones had his second, this time seeing his good spin and his subsequent deflected shot.
The Imps are off to a brilliant start in League One this season, winning their opening two games.
However, the chasm in the class was there for all to see when Liverpool made it 5-0 with just 18 seconds to go.
Liverpool pressure was a feature of their game throughout the night, as it has been since Jurgen Klopp took over. After pressuring Lincoln to lose the ball, Harvey Elliott saw a shot stopped. That left Minamino free to direct a volley into an unguarded net.
Lincoln then created some opportunities of his own, giving Adrian some work to do in the visiting goal.
But if the Imps had thought Liverpool were going to make it easy for them, they wouldn’t have welcomed the arrival of £ 41m man Diogo Jota off the bench for his debut with 33 minutes to go.
However, it was Lincoln who scored next, and it was a good hit. The goal was built up the left flank with Conor McGrandies cutting the ball for Tayo Edun. He slipped his man in and threw a great effort past Adrian for just his second high-level goal.
Grujic on the Liverpool minutes

Liverpool added a sixth five minutes later with Marko Grujic entering the act. Serbian – subject of more speculation of departure on Thursday – Drilled a low shot to the corner from outside the area. It was his first goal for the Reds, some 1,723 days since he joined the club.
Lincoln’s Lewis Montsma scored the third goal of a seven-minute streak. He rose higher to direct a good header from a corner to the bottom of the crossbar.
Jota nearly opened his Liverpool account when he worked a bit of space and took a low shot from 20 yards.
However, a quick break from Minamino played in Origi and led home in the seventh in the 89th minute with a running shot.
That was how it turned out when Klopp’s men entered the fourth round to establish an interesting tie with the Gunners.
