A main Arsenal target is set to sign, but three players must be eliminated first, while Man Utd has hit a roadblock in their bid to sign Alex Telles, according to transfer rumors Thursday.

LYON STAR WANTS TO SEAL THE ARSENAL OFFER

Arsenal are preparing an improved offer for Houssem Aouar, with the player himself ready to join the club.

The Frenchman has become one of Mikel Arteta’s two midfield targets, alongside Atlético de Madrid executor Thomas Partey.

The Express reports that the Gunners have already put forth a more effective player offer for Aouar, which includes Matteo Guendouzi.

However, Lyon was not interested in that proposal, leaving Arsenal to reconsider their approach on a possible deal.

Aouar was outstanding when Lyon eliminated Juventus and Manchester City in the knockout phase of the Champions League.

Arteta has been aware of the quality of the midfielder since his days as City’s assistant manager, when he congratulated the player on his performance after a 2-2 draw in November 2018.

According to Fabrizio Romano, he is ready to return with another offer for the player, if he can get rid of three players first.

“Obviously the club that is working to sign Aouar is Arsenal,” Romano said at the Here we go podcast.

“We have to say that Arsenal is convinced that if they could sell some players, and they have many in [Sead] Kolasinac, Socrates [Papastathopoulos] and [Lucas] Torreira, many players to sell or give up in the last two weeks, can try again for Aouar.

“Lyon are asking € 60 million, so it is complicated, but the player would be ready to join the Premier League, he would be ready to join Arsenal.

“The player would like to come to the Premier League and join Arsenal but for now there are no negotiations.

“In July they offered Guendouzi as part of the deal and did not reach an agreement.

“Now it’s up to Arsenal if they sell players, I’m convinced [they will bid again]. “

Torreira has already agreed personal terms with Atlético before a possible change.

Bayer Leverkusen is said to be leading the way for Kolasinac, while Sokratis has been linked to a move to Italy.
