SINGAPORE: Singapore reported 12 new COVID-19 cases as of noon on Wednesday (September 23), including an infection in the community, the Ministry of Health (MINSA) said in its daily preliminary report.

This brings the national account to 57,639.

The only case from the community is the holder of a work pass, the Ministry of Health said.

There were also four new imported cases that had been placed on stay-at-home notice upon arrival in Singapore.

The ministry said more details will be released Wednesday night.

Three more food and beverage establishments were ordered to close and four others were fined for violating COVID-19 rules, the Ministry of Sustainability and Environment (MSE) said on Tuesday.

This follows enforcement actions taken against 18 outlets, which the ministry announced on September 17.

As there are still “a minority” of outlets that continue to break the rules, “the Government will continue to intensify compliance checks at Singapore’s food and beverage outlets to ensure they remain safe spaces for all,” said MSE. .
