Leeds United are firmly in the race to sign a Manchester United attacker who could be seen as over-the-counter, while José Mourinho wants to meet a £ 30 million-rated Red Devils star in Tottenham, according to gossip from the Sunday newspaper.

DANIEL JAMES TIPS FOR LEEDS TRANSFER

Leeds is ready to renew its interest in Daniel James if it is determined that he exceeds the requirements at Manchester United.

Marcelo Bielsa’s team came close to signing the Wales winger on the 2019 transfer deadline. The deal seemed made only for Swansea to change their minds at the last minute.

That strategy seemed to pay off when James signed with the Red Devils a few months later for nearly double the price.

James made a great start at Old Trafford with three goals in his first four games.

Since then, however, its shape has dried up and has scored only once since then. The young winger has also come under severe criticism from United fans with many suggesting that the player is not good enough.

However the Sunday Star Daily suggests that it might still end up in Leeds after all.

The newspaper believes that Marcelo Bielsa’s team could return their rivals their 15 million pounds if they plan to get rid of him. Leeds ‘chances appear to hinge on the Red Devils’ prospects of signing a new winger. To that end, Dortmund appears to have taken a tougher stance on Jadon Sancho and could now raise his asking price.

Ivan Perisic of Inter Milan, Douglas Costa of Juventus and Ousmane Dembélé of Barcelona have been touted as backup options. Bournemouth winger David Brooks is another player who has been watched closely.

And if any of them arrive, it is claimed that James would be considered in excess of the requirements.

According to him Star, Leeds would have the green light to sign James on a seasonal loan with a view to a permanent £ 15 million deal next summer.
