Here is his recap of Tottenham Hotspur from Saturday 19 September.

Real players ‘relieved’ by Bale’s departure

Gareth Bale is nearing a return to Tottenham Hotspur, ending a completely miserable spell under Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid.

Between the golf headlines, injuries and fights with Zidane, it is somewhat overlooked that the Welsh winger has won two LaLiga titles and a whopping four Champions League titles while at the Santiago Bernabéu club.

Even so, the circus that surrounds him not being involved in games in recent times has certainly had a negative effect on the dressing room, with Spanish outlet HOW citing the program The beach bar when he said that Bale did not go to see all his companions before leaving, nor to say goodbye to them.

As such, they ensure that “the dressing room is relieved” that the saga has already ended and his departure is almost confirmed.

Mourinho sure that Kane will reach full speed when Bale arrives

Harry Kane has yet to find his rhythm, two games in 2020/21, while recently he also seemed short of a rhythm with England in Nations League matches.

José Mourinho is not particularly concerned about that and feels your striker will come in handy sooner rather than later – especially since you’re about to get a new elite level of service and support.

Bale’s imminent arrival should give Kane not only a greater supply line, but also someone who will take the burden off of scoring to some degree, and the two of them could find their best physical condition around the same time that Kane is essentially playing his own preseason version, says the Spurs boss.

“[Harry] He had no pre-season at all, he went directly from the confinement to the national team, without training, ”said Mourinho.

“He didn’t have a week of training, so at this point his preparation has been only the minutes he has been on the field.

“Of course he’s not ready, but it’s the way he finds his shape, his sharpness, his movement, his intensity.”

Gerrard says Bale was a “fantastic hit” for Spurs

Former Liverpool midfielder and current Rangers manager Steven Gerrard was asked for his take on Tottenham to bring back Gareth Bale, and it was unequivocal in his recognition that it will be a great deal.

Perhaps it is remarkable, given his past, that Gerrard suggested that a different transfer from the Premier League had caught his eye a bit more, but still pointed out that Spurs had done well to get the Real Madrid winger.

“I think it is a fantastic blow for Tottenham,” said Gerrard. “I think you are talking about a world class individual, but to be honest, I am more excited about Thiago.

“He is the one who puts butterflies in my stomach. My focus there is Liverpool, not Tottenham.

“But it is a fantastic blow. Gareth Bale is world class and you don’t want to see players like that sitting on the bench, frustrated and not playing. “
