Details have emerged as to why Manchester United have put off signing Gareth Bale, who is set for an impressive return to Tottenham.
the Real Madrid forward The proposed one-year loan will end up costing Spurs close to £ 20 million, although they will not pay any one-time fees to Real Madrid.
That’s according to a report in the Daily express, While The independent says the north London club will only pay part of Bale’s salary.
The 31-year-old is approaching a surprising return to North London. Indeed, Sky sports he claims he is awaiting permission from the Royal to board a private jet and fly to London to seal the deal.
Bale leaves Madrid after his relationship with Bernabéu coach Zinedine Zidane completely deteriorated.
He still has another two years to execute his gigantic £ 500,000-a-week contract. It had previously been said that he would be happy not to fulfill the rest of his contract.
However, after playing for Wales earlier this month, he decided that he wants to play regularly again.
Bale has always maintained that he is still a Tottenham amateur, having played the best football of his career for Spurs prior to his record-breaking 2013 La Liga signing.
Tottenham was said to have been in talks about a deal to sign him on the deadline in January, but nothing happened.
However, they rekindled his interest during the negotiations to sign Madrid’s left-back Sergio Reguilón.
The report in the Quick He adds that it has not been confirmed whether a clause will be inserted allowing Spurs to sign him permanently, but they will end up getting a slight discount on the loan.
Madrid are desperate to get rid of the Welsh playmaker and are willing to subsidize his salary.
They will reportedly pay half his salary, £ 250,000 per week, with the Spurs paying the bill for the rest of his salary.
With no one-time payments due from Tottenham to Madrid, the loan will apparently cost them £ 20 million for the year.
United take a hard line on Bale’s move
United It had been linked to a move by Bale as an alternative to Jadon Sancho. But they apparently refused to pay that much for a 31-year-old. They cited the catastrophic finances involved in Alexis Sánchez’s signing as evidence against him.
And Duncan Castles of the Transfer Window Podcast reported this week that Daniel Levy decided to move to the extreme after learning of United’s interest.
“Madrid is saying that it will be sold for 20 million euros and is open to loans in which they will subsidize part of its substantial salary,” he said.
“It has become less complicated. It is still complicated, but it is less complicated than in previous summers.
“Daniel Levy is now exploring the possibility of bringing Bale back to Tottenham on loan,” he said. “Obviously he will try to get as much as possible of the salary that Madrid pays.
“I have been told that you are also aware that Manchester United have been in negotiations and have worked out the details of a loan agreement, and therefore are fighting to bring the player to Tottenham.”
