Jurgen Klopp made a sarcastic apology to the media on Friday after being questioned about the rivalry with Frank Lampard.

The Liverpool manager was encouraged when asked about his relationship with the Chelsea manager.

Klopp was quick to reveal that he had “no problem” with the Blues manager, despite a heated argument with the former England midfielder in July at Anfield.

Lampard strangely lost his cool during the 5-3 loss and was involved in a heated exchange with the Liverpool bench.

“Fair play for Liverpool Football Club, they won the league, But don’t get too arrogant either. That was my point, but it’s done. In match play, you can get emotional and that was it, ”Lampard said. Sky sports.

Klopp responded, and more recently when asked about transfers, the German referred to them as “Clubs owned by countries and oligarchs.”

However, Klopp was adamant that there was no problem between the managers: “There is no rivalry. You should stop reading newspapers! When I heard what all these journalists made up, I didn’t understand it. When you ask me, I answer and everyone takes it how they want. You all make a story.

“You say I did a story about ‘Chelsea transfer behavior.’ What I said was that we cannot deal with the situation of their clubs and one of the clubs mentioned was Chelsea, I don’t know. Then you make a story and then you create a rivalry between me and Frank Lampard. Why?

“We meet two or three times a year and I respect what he is doing. He’s probably a very nice guy, but I don’t know him privately, like he doesn’t know me.

“Then on the sidelines, we are quite encouraged and excited and sometimes you say a few words and a few minutes later you say some things that you wish you hadn’t done.

“This is life, this is football. Nothing more than that.

“I heard that some people would be glad if there was an old rivalry again. As with Arsene (Wenger) and (Sir Alex Ferguson), I’m pretty sure these two guys were good to each other.

“I don’t think the world needs stories about these things, but only you in the newspapers and I can’t help the rivalry, sorry.”

“I have no problem with Frank Lampard.”

The clubs meet at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and Klopp has been injured since the opening day win against Leeds.

“It has been an intense week, one or two things but we should be fine. Nobody is going to return and the rest we will see. Everything seems to be fine, ”he added.
