Certis is conducting investigations after a video clip showed its officers disposing of confiscated alcohol from a migrant worker dormitory.

“We are aware that our auxiliary police officers deployed to the Tuas View dormitory were helping to remove the confiscated alcohol,” Certis told AsiaOne.

A video clip that circulated on social media yesterday (September 17) had a caption saying that a worker was caught after trying to smuggle alcohol into the bedroom.

Several auxiliary police officers were seen pouring liquor and beer into a drain, and dozens more of the confiscated alcohol were placed in the area next to them.

Then another man placed the empty bottles and cans in a garbage bag.

The clip garnered nearly 340,000 views, as well as more than 1,000 comments, with many raising questions about whether it was appropriate to dispose of alcohol in this way and why migrant workers were not allowed to consume alcohol after work.
