SINGAPORE: Certis said late Thursday (September 17) that it was investigating an incident in the bedroom of a migrant worker that involved its officers discarding confiscated alcohol.

Responding to inquiries from the CNA, Certis said: “We are aware that our auxiliary police officers deployed to the Tuas View dormitory were helping to remove the confiscated alcohol.

“We are seriously considering this incident and are conducting further investigations.”

A video posted on the Singapore Road Accidents Facebook page on Thursday afternoon showed uniformed officers emptying bottles of what looked like beer and liquor down a drain.

At least three officers, all wearing face shields and gloves, participated in the removal as more cans and bottles were nearby.

A man was also seen placing empty cans and bottles in a black garbage bag.

The caption for the Facebook video read: “Worker tried to smuggle alcohol into bedroom and was caught.”
