Lucien Favre has apparently carved another hole in Manchester United’s hopes of signing Jadon Sancho this summer.
The probability of End of england the course to Old Trafford seems to be slowing by the day.
And the latest comments from Borussia Dortmund boss Favre will only increase the chances of a big deal that seems less and less likely.
The 20-year-old has received suggestions to make the switch to United since the turn of the year. In fact, Sancho has been Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s main target all summer.
However, Favre has poured cold water on any possibility of the forward leaving the Bundesliga giants anytime soon.
He said Keystone SDA (quoted by Sport Bible): “We need it, there is no doubt. Everyone was happy that he stayed.
“We don’t need to talk much about his qualities, they are huge. Score and set lots of goals and can often make a difference.
“But there are some details that Sancho needs to improve. That’s pretty normal for a 20-year-old. “
It has been speculated that United still hoped to complete a deal before the transfer window closes on October 5.
However, these latest comments appear to have nullified any hope for the Red Devils.
It is clear from the back of the German team that he claims there was “no chance” of him moving out of the Westfalenstadion. That was after United did not agree to their terms before the team returned to preseason training last month.
United turns to alternative options
That prompted United to look for potential alternatives, with Douglas Costa, Ivan Perisic and David Brooks on the horizon.
But Gareth Bale has now become a real target for United. In fact, some reports suggest Real Madrid could let him go for just £ 18 million.
United’s only addition to their squad so far has been Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek. But Solskjaer remains on the hunt for a center back, a right-back and a forward as United prepares to start their Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace this weekend.
