Manchester United looks set to miss out on Sergio Reguilón after reports in Spain claimed the left-back wanted to move elsewhere.

Multiple reports have indicated strong United interest in the 23-year-old. Now he’s back at Real Madrid and on the market for around 30 million euros after impressing at Sevilla.

Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is an admirer of the Spaniard looking to strengthen his ranks. In fact, Solskjaer has reportedly led the charge with a four-year contract offer.

Tottenham is also heavily credited with an interest. They’re looking for a new left back with Danny Rose approaches Italy by surprise.

However, AS claims that the Spanish international does not want to stop playing for Los Blancos forever. In addition, they say that Reguilón would prefer to rejoin Sevilla with a season loan to improve his prospects.

The Madrid-based newspaper claims Reguilon grew up supporting Real and is determined to achieve success there. By leaving for the Premier League now, he would be closing the door to that possibility.

Real have Marcelo and French star Ferland Mendy currently blocking Reguilon’s path as the first team.

While it’s a calculated risk, Reguilon knows he’s comfortable in Andalusia, as he helped them achieve glory in the Europa League.

But the report says he hopes to do enough in his second season with Julen Lopetegui’s team to earn himself an extended stay at the Bernabéu.

United offered Alex Telles at a reduced price

News of Reguilon’s likely snub will come as a blow to Solskjaer. However, the United manager could find a quick solution in the form of Alex Telles.

Telles has been a standout player for Porto since joining them from Galatasaray until 2016. He has 24 goals in 194 appearances, as well as numerous left-back assists.

At that time it was said that Porto was looking for around 30 million euros for the Brazilian.

However, with his contract now less than 10 months to run, the player has shown no signs of wanting to extend. As such, Porto is under pressure to sell now and, in an attempt to tempt suitors, has lowered its price.
