Leeds aims to secure a permanent deal for a Frank Lampard-rated Chelsea star, although The Blues would prefer to go the loan route.

The Daily Mail report that one of those alternatives could be the Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
The 20-year-old has represented England at the Under 21 level and has gained experience on loan spells with Charlton Athletic and Swansea City.
The midfielder is described as “highly” rated by Lampard, and the Chelsea manager would prefer to let Gallagher gain more experience through another loan period.
However, the article describes Bielsa and Leeds for having “so much faith that Gallagher will fit Marcelo Bielsa’s style that they are willing to buy him.”
Convincing Chelsea to part ways with the youngster appears to be a tall order, especially with West Brom and Aston Villa both touted as receptive to offering loan deals.

Meanwhile, Virgil van Dijk congratulated Leeds for making life difficult for Liverpool in their first game of the season.
