Diogo Dalot is unhappy with his situation with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United, according to a transfer expert.
The defender of Portugal He’s apparently frustrated at his lack of playing time and wants to leave the club, says Duncan Castles.
Dalot arrived from Porto for £ 19m in 2018 but has struggled to get into United’s first team setup. He made just 11 appearances for Solskjaer last season and was plagued with hip and groin injuries.
The 21-year-old made the Premier League squad only twice after the lockout and Castles claims Solskjaer has listed him as a third-choice right-back.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is established as his first-choice right-back with the youngster and Brandon Williams as backup.
But, according to the source, Solskjaer is unwilling to let the Portugal youth star go ahead.
“They have to get the players out and it’s interesting to see what is happening with two guys who have fallen far below the pecking order in that highly staffed Manchester United defensive section,” Castles said at the Transfer window podcast.
“One of them, Diogo Dalot, the young Portuguese under-21 international, who has essentially been relegated to third-choice right-back in the planning Solskjaer is doing for next season.
“Obviously, Wan-Bissaka has that defined position.
“I can tell you that Dalot is unhappy with his situation at United and really wants to leave, however he does not have permission from the club to leave.
