Hong Kong star Gillian Chung, one half of the Cantopop Twins duo, suffered a head injury in an accident in Xiamen, China, and was sent to hospital early Monday (September 7), Hong Kong media reported. .

Chung suffered a serious head injury in the accident that took place around 2 a.m. at the hotel where he was staying, said Emperor Entertainment Group, which runs it. The 39-year-old man was immediately sent to a Xiamen University hospital.

She informed her good friend, singer Joey Yung, and manager Mani Fok, and they are both on their way from Beijing to Xiamen to visit her, the group said.

Chung is reported to be in Xiamen to film a new drama.

She wanted to continue filming, as Monday was supposed to be the last day of filming, but her manager Fok convinced her to stay at the hospital for further observation, the group said.

He added that he would post an update later on his condition.

Chung had made headlines in May for divorcing 31-year-old Taiwanese aesthetic doctor Michael Lai. They were married in 2018 and have no children.
