Fancy a job that pays six figures a month?
The Sunday Times found at least 10 jobs promoting salaries of $ 100,000 a month or more on the national job portal MyCareersFuture.sg last month.
Some of these lists have been edited because they wrongly reflected annual salaries and attracted dozens of applications. Several, however, remain unchanged.
Observers said such salary offers are too good to be true, especially in this uncertain economic climate.
A project manager job appears with a monthly salary of $ 160,000 to $ 200,000. The position, which involves creating digital products for the fintech market, seeks candidates with 10 years of experience. He has received about 40 requests on the portal.
Another listing from a financial services industry consultant with at least five years of experience offers a monthly payment of between $ 130,000 and $ 200,000. It has more than 30 applications. When contacted, the firm clarified that it was a typographical error.
These are likely entry errors, said Paul Heng, managing director of NeXT Career Consulting Group, adding that some of the salaries are annual figures.
Mr. David Leong, managing director of human resources firm PeopleWorldwide Consulting, said, “Typically, those in the higher salary brackets are likely to be hunted by search consultants who will seek out the best talent for their clients.”
In response to ST’s inquiries, some companies said it was clerical errors. Others did not respond.
Omni Machinery, which services and rents mobile elevated work platforms, initially had a business development executive job listing that offered a monthly salary of $ 40,000 to $ 150,000. This was revised to $ 3,000 to $ 12,500 per month on Wednesday.

On why the company is hiring despite being affected by the pandemic (the company’s revenue saw a 70 percent drop during the breaker period when demand for its equipment fell), he said it is important to plan ahead and find new ways of doing business. He expects business to resume at normal levels starting next month and said new hires will have more time to acquire skills.
Enterprise software provider SAP Singapore also fixed a listing error that put the machine learning developer’s salary at $ 60,000 to $ 120,000 per month. This has been changed from $ 5,000 to $ 10,000 per month.
The company, which is hiring core and replacement positions, is helping companies evolve the way they do business digitally, said CEO Eileen Chua.
“No industry has been spared from the pandemic, and some have suffered the brunt of the recession much more than others, but the growth of remote work has helped us,” he said.
