Police are investigating an incident in which a man removed his mask to allegedly yell and hurl vulgarities at a worker at a vegetable stand in Block 17 Bedok South Road on August 28.

“The guy reacted violently and yelled and threw vulgarities at the cashier who continued serving other customers until it was the guy’s turn.

“The cashier informed the guy to put on the mask, but he refused and ignored her instructions.

“The guy’s screams attracted the cashier’s colleague.

“The cashier told his colleague to call the police, but his colleague was reluctant.

“Finally the cashier told the guy the price of his item, but the guy walked away instead of buying it.

“After a while, the guy came back and said, ‘You wanted to call the police, right? Call lah! ‘

When the cashier asked him again if he wanted to call the police, the man allegedly answered out loud, “Yes! I want them to come!”

In response to an inquiry from Stomp, police confirmed that a report was filed.
