SINGAPORE: Four Orchard Road shopping malls were added on Friday (September 4) to the Ministry of Health (MINSA) list of public places visited by community cases of COVID-19 during their infectious period.

Centrepoint, Lucky Plaza, Ngee Ann City, and Wisma Atria are among those reportedly visited by confirmed cases.

The TAG Heuer watch store in Wisma Atria appeared twice on the list. The mall’s Food Republic food court was also added.

At Jewel Changi Airport, Tiger Street Lab, a concept Tiger Beer store serving beer and food, was visited by crates of COVID-19 for two hours on August 24.

Other places visited by confirmed cases include restaurants at Compass One and NEX, as well as the NTUC FairPrice Warehouse Club in Joo Koon.

Those who had been identified as close contacts of confirmed cases would have been notified by the Ministry of Health.

As a precautionary measure, people who were in these places during the specified times should monitor their health closely for 14 days from the date of their visit.

“They should see a doctor immediately if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their history of exposure,” said the Ministry of Health. .

It is not necessary to avoid places where confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been recorded, the ministry added. The National Environment Agency will contract the management of the affected facilities to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection.

Singapore reported 40 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, including three imported infections. There were no new cases in the community.

The three imported cases were placed on stay-at-home notices upon arrival in Singapore and tested positive while in isolation in dedicated facilities, the Health Ministry said.

The ministry has also contacted 254 people who visited the SLR Revolution camera store in the Excelsior shopping center between August 15 and 18, following the detection of three COVID-19 cases linked to the store.

Of these, 250 people tested negative for COVID-19, while the remaining four have not yet been cleaned.
