I try to do Jesseca Liu’s 3-minute yoga pose that is supposed to ‘reshape’ my body, Lifestyle News

Is this how Jesseca Liu keeps her body lithe?

Earlier last month, the local celebrity demonstrated a rather interesting yoga pose on her Instagram story.

The 41-year-old wrote of the pose, which allows a single knee to be placed on the mat, with both elbows supporting the body: “I heard that this particular action can reshape your body in three minutes.”

With such a promising claim, I decided to give it a shot despite not having done yoga in years to see if it can really “reshape” my body.

I challenged myself to perform the pose every day for two weeks and was hoping to get some abs or even some definition.

To track my progress, I decided to take pictures of my abdominal area daily to see if there were any changes in my body and to measure my weight and waist before holding the pose.

Try the three minute yoga pose

It didn’t seem like such a herculean task. “Only three minutes? Easy the H“I thought to myself, before realizing how wrong I was the first day.

I had a tough time even getting into the pose and holding the position for a minute was hard enough, let alone three. It was also difficult to balance with one foot in the air and I ended up falling on my yoga mat every time I tried.

Despite many failed attempts, I finally managed to hold my posture for three minutes, although it seemed like forever. I could feel my back tense, as well as my sore arms and legs as I held the pose.

By the second day, even though it was still difficult for me to keep my balance, it was already getting a little easier. By the end of the first week, I was getting used to it.

However, when I looked at the photos I took of my body and stomach for comparison throughout the week, there were sadly no discernible differences. My weight and waist measurements also showed no signs of weight loss or inches.

Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I continued to do the yoga pose for another week to compare the results again.

My verdict: no abs and no weight loss, but at least my balance improved

After two weeks, I was very disappointed not to have gained any abs. My weight didn’t change and I certainly didn’t feel like my body had been reshaped in any way.

However, that doesn’t mean you’ve been wasting those three minutes in one day. I realized that although nothing changed physically much, my concentration and balance improved.

Okay, I only tried Jesseca’s yoga pose for two weeks, so it may not have been enough time to observe any physical changes. I also wondered if the results, or the lack, were unusual.

So, I reached out to different yoga instructors and asked what they thought about this particular pose and its supposed benefits.

What yoga instructors have to say

Yoga Inc. owner Ashly Lou told AsiaOne that our particular inquiry was met with silence from the instructors in their studio.

Lou, who told us that she “really likes Jesseca Liu,” explained that the pose “isn’t even a yoga pose really.” “It’s just a pretty looking pose,” Lou said.

Dr. CS Wong, a consultant physician who is also a member of the study, offered his opinion that “holding that pose for three minutes can reshape your body in that specific way for three minutes, its. “

However, Lou noted that some flexibility, core strength, and balance are required to hold the pose for three minutes, which would be easy for yoga practitioners.

Mohankumar Rajaraman, a yoga teacher at TFX Pacific Plaza, said that Jesseca’s yoga pose is actually a variation of Vyaghrasana, which is known as the tiger pose.

“This pose is often used to train an individual’s concentration, balance, and coordination and is commonly practiced during Hatha Yoga,” he explained.

If you are wondering what Hatha Yoga is, it is a type of yoga that improves posture, flexibility and endurance, as well as focus and concentration of the mind, according to Mohankumar.

One yoga pose is not enough

While there is debate as to whether the Jesseca yoga pose is a legitimate pose, yoga instructors may agree that practicing a single pose is not enough to reshape the body.

“The human body is complex and needs movement, strength and flexibility training. You cannot prescribe one pose to benefit all body types. Instead of choosing a pose to reshape your body in three minutes, try to be consistent in Your yoga practice will get better results, “advises Christine Toong, Senior Teacher and Teacher Trainer at Yoga Inc.

Mohankumar also suggested practicing a combination of yoga styles alongside Pilates to tone the overall body more effectively.

In an interview with 8 Days, Jesseca said that she does yoga weekly in addition to her regular training. Therefore, there may be more work involved than just a three minute yoga pose to see any changes in your body. Let’s not forget also the importance of a healthy diet.

But if you really only have three minutes, Lou recommends doing more effective yoga poses, such as the low boat, chair pose, plank pose, and lobster pose.

Still not convinced? Well, you can always try the three minute yoga pose for yourself and see what results you get.
