Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Thiago silva on a one-year contract after passing a medical exam on Thursday.
Chelsea have the option to extend the contract for one more year for the Brazilian central defender, who became a free agent after PSG’s defeat in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich.

Silva, who spent eight years with PSG after joining AC Milan in 2012, is Frank Lampard’s sixth summer signing following the arrivals of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr and Xavier Mbuyamba.
“I am very happy to join Chelsea,” Silva said.
“I am delighted to be part of Frank Lampard’s exciting team for next season and I am here to fight for the honors.
“See you soon Chelsea fans, I hope to play at Stamford Bridge very soon.”
Chelsea manager Marina Granovskaia said: “We are delighted to be able to add a player with Thiago Silva’s proven world-class credentials to our team.
“Having performed at the highest level for many years, we have no doubt that his experience and quality will complement the many exciting talents we already have here.
