SINGAPORE – One of the two suspected criminals linked to an attack on Sunday (May 10), in which the injured victim was found in Bishan, is said to have returned to offend while on bail.

Before Sunday’s incident, Gervan Wong Jun Heng, 24, had been brought to court earlier and handed down 24 counts of crime, including the use of methamphetamine and two other assault charges.

Wong and Andre Chen Si’en, 29, appeared in court Tuesday for their alleged involvement in Sunday’s attack that had left Douglas Wong Wei Hao, 30, with multiple injuries, including a deformed left arm, puncture wounds on both legs. and head injuries.

Each of the two was charged with one count of using a weapon to cause serious harm to Mr. Douglas Wong at the Choa Chu Kang Cemetery around 3 am Sunday.

Gervan Wong is accused of attacking him with a metal baton, while Chen is said to have done so with a knuckle.

Court documents did not indicate how Douglas Wong ended up in Bishan.

Police said in a statement Monday that they were informed of the attack by Mr. Douglas Wong around 5:40 a.m. Sunday after they found him wounded on Bishan 12 Street.

Officers from the Jurong Police Division managed to establish the identities of the two suspected criminals through ground inquiries and images from police cameras.

Officers arrested the men within 10 hours of filing the report.

Gervan Wong now has three total assault charges pending.

On October 27 of last year, he reportedly allied with two other men to attack Eugene Aathar, 25, and Ong Hian Wei, 34, in the basement parking lot 3 of Marina Bay Sands around 6 a.m.

Gervan Wong, Jovi Wan Shao Xiong, 22, and Kenji Pong Jia Rong, 24, are accused of using a knife to cut the couple.

Court documents did not reveal details about this alleged incident.

Of Sunday’s incident, police said they do not tolerate “such blatant acts of violence and blatant disregard for the law.”

They added: “We will spare no effort to arrest these criminals and treat them harshly in accordance with the law.”

Gervan Wong and Chen will be sent to the Woodlands Police Division and will return to court on May 19.

Offenders convicted of voluntarily causing serious gun injury can be jailed for life or up to 15 years with a fine or a beating.
