A group of four men were caught ignoring safe distancing measures after they created a riot while smoking and drinking together in a pavilion in Toa Payoh on Saturday (May 9).

Stomper Sandy He shared photos of the incident that occurred in a park near Block 69 Toa Payoh Lorong 4 around 4.25 p.m.

She told Stomp: “A group of people was screaming and arguing in the pavilion. They had no masks and there was no social distance.

“Later, around five policemen arrived.”

In response to a Stomp inquiry, police said they received multiple calls for public assistance about the group of men at 4.20 p.m.

When the police arrived, they found four men sitting together, drinking and smoking, in a park next to the block.

“Three of the four men, aged between 34 and 61 years, received a composition notice for violating safe distancing measures under Regulation COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) 2020,” added the police. .

“The fourth person, a 39-year-old man, is being investigated for repeatedly violating safe distancing measures.

“The man had already received composition warnings for violating safe distancing measures on previous occasions.”

The police advised the four men to adhere to the measures of the circuit breakers and subsequently left the area.
