REUTERS: Alphabet Inc’s Google said on Friday (May 8) that it had asked employees to take a day off on May 22 to address work-related exhaustion from home during the coronavirus pandemic.
Chief Executive Sundar Pichai announced the move in a memorandum to employees on Thursday night, which was first reported by CNBC.

Google said it would start reopening more offices worldwide in early June, but that most Google employees would likely work from home until the end of this year.
Facebook Inc also said Friday that it would allow workers who can work remotely to do so until the end of 2020.
The virus, which has so far infected more than 3.9 million people worldwide, has forced tight blockades in most countries and has changed the way companies operate, with work from home emerging as the new standard.
