Donald Trump appointed Vince McMahon to an advisory group to help reopen the United States economy.

The President of the United States announced this week that he is forming a group that includes commissioners from the top four sports leagues and other executives in the country.

In addition to “great” WWE President Vince McMahon, Trump also named such characters as NBA Silver Adam Silver, NFL Chief Roger Goodell, MLB Rob Manfred and NHL Chief Gary Bettman.

In addition, he noted that UFC President Dana White is part of the team, along with Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

Speaking during a briefing on Tuesday, Trump spoke about the importance of bringing sports back to everyday life after the coronavirus pandemic forced leagues to stop gambling.

He said: ‘We have to get our sports back, I am tired of watching baseball games that are 14 years old.

“I haven’t really had too much time to look. I would say maybe I look at a hitter and then go back to work.”

The conference came after it was revealed that WWE would be allowed to continue presenting live shows, without a crowd, at the Performance Center in Orlando.

Despite the state being under a stay-at-home order, the company has been considered an “essential business” and will therefore be able to stream from its training center each week.

Speaking to the media earlier this week, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demmings said :: I think a review was initially conducted and was not initially considered an essential business.

‘With some discussion with the governor’s office regarding the governor’s order, they were considered an essential business. And therefore, they were allowed to remain open. “

The classification as a “core business” amid Florida’s “state at home” mandate comes from a memo issued by state coordinator Jared Moskowitz.

Listing the classifieds as such, the memo reads: ‘Employed in a professional sports and media production with a national audience, including athletes, performers, production team, executive team, media team and any others necessary to facilitate the inclusion of services that support such production. only if the location is closed to the general public. “

WWE will continue to broadcast live three nights a week from its training facility in Orlando.

Plus: Coronavirus

Explaining its position, the company recently said: ‘We believe it is now more important than ever to give people a detour from these difficult times.

‘We are producing content in a closed set with only essential personnel present following appropriate guidelines while taking additional precautions to ensure the health and well-being of our artists and staff.

“As a brand that has been woven into the fabric of society, WWE and its superstars bring families together and provide a sense of hope, determination, and perseverance.”
