SINGAPORE: McDonald’s Singapore fast food chain extended its closure after it would initially reopen on May 5, the restaurant said in a Facebook post on Thursday (April 30).
McDonald’s did not specify when its stores would reopen, but said they would remain closed “just a little longer” in light of the current COVID-19 situation.

He explained that under the framework of essential services, he would be allowed to restart operations from May 4, but decided not to. That It first suspended the restaurant’s operations on April 19.
“We have decided to extend our closure for a little longer for the safety and well-being of our employees and customers.
“We will continue to monitor the situation of COVID-19 in the community before determining an appropriate time for us to reopen.”
The fast-food chain also assured its front-line employees that their jobs were secure and that their wages would be paid during the temporary shutdown.

He added that there were also no new cases of COVID-19 among McDonald’s employees.
In early April, it was announced that several McDonald’s employees had been diagnosed with coronavirus. In Thursday’s restaurant update, he said the seven affected employees “are on the road to recovery.”
He added: “Many of you have sent your good wishes, on behalf of our employees, we thank you very much.
“From our McDonald’s family to yours, we are truly grateful for your patience and understanding.”
