Chinese technology brand Oneplus is back in 2020 with its new flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 8 series. Like many of its direct competitors that have come out this year, the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will be compatible with 5G, in addition to having a large number of high-end specifications that make it a viable option for Android users.
First off, both models will house the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, which is present in the Oppo Find X2 series, allowing it to be 5G ready in the first place. As for the display, the 8 Pro will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 3,168 x 1,440 pixels at 120 Hz, another basic feature on many flagships this year, for a smooth user experience like silk.
OnePlus has also made improvements to its camera system, with the 8 Pro featuring the company’s first four-camera setup. The camera system comes with a 48-megapixel lens, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 3x hybrid zoom telephoto lens, and a 5-megapixel color filter lens.
It remains to be seen exactly how the new camera system will fare in the field, though it appears the company has plans to match even the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and Apple’s iPhone 11 Pro Max.
Other notable features include a sizable 4,150 mAh battery in the OnePlus 8 Pro, which is supposed to charge from 0% to 50% in just half an hour. It will also be the first device with wireless charging capacity (30 W) of the company, although its brother OnePlus 8 will not have the function. Additionally, both models will come with innate IP68 dust and water resistance, giving it greater durability compared to their predecessors.

Forgive him in advance if he suddenly lets out terms like “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because he never stops thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
